Dead Surf · Columbia, South Carolina · early 2010s

Summer Never Was,
returned to the world.

Close vocal harmonies, surf rock, indie pop, and bruised romanticism—preserved as an act of archival care.

01 · The band

Four people, one circuit, a formative chapter.

In the early 2010s, Randy co-fronted Columbia surf-pop quartet Dead Surf with guitarist and vocalist Kelsey Lopez de Victoria, alongside drummer Lee Garrett and bassist Michael Roberts.

Randy played keys, sang, and wrote songs as the band threaded close harmonies through surf rock, indie pop, and emotionally direct songwriting.

04 · What came after

Band instincts carried into later work.

Harmony, arrangement, keys, songwriting, and the practical intimacy of making music with other people remain part of Randy’s solo recordings and collaborative practice.

The songs are the archive’s center. Meet them there.
